Bookable resources and availability

Resources are the people, tables, and rooms customers book against — a stylist, a therapist, a table, a tasting room. Each has its own weekly hours and days off, and the store builds bookable times from them.

Bookable resources and availability

A resource is the thing a customer books a time with — a stylist, a therapist, a class instructor, a restaurant table, a tasting room. Each resource carries its own weekly hours, and a booking product (appointment or reservation) generates its open times from them. Resources don't need a login; they're a list you manage.

Add a resource

    1. Open Resources and click New resource.
    2. Name it — "Jane Doe", "Table 4", "Tasting Room". Pick a type (person, table, room, or generic) — it only changes the label customers see.
    3. Set the weekly hours — tick the days it's available and set the start and end time for each. The default is Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.
    4. Save.

A resource with no hours generates no bookable times. If customers can't find a slot, the first thing to check is that the resource has weekly hours set.

Days off and one-off hours

Under Date-specific hours you can override the weekly pattern for a single date:

  • Closed — tick "Closed" to block the whole day (a public holiday, annual leave). No times are offered that day.
  • Different hours — set a start and end time to replace the usual hours for that date only (a late market night, a half day).

Connect a resource to a booking

A resource only takes bookings once it's assigned to a booking product (appointment or reservation). On the product form, pick the resource (or resources) that can serve it. See Taking appointments and reservations for the full walkthrough.

Reuse one resource across several services. A stylist set up once can be offered on a "Cut & finish", a "Colour", and a "Blow-dry" — each with its own duration and price — all drawing from the same weekly hours, so they never double-book.

Removing a resource

You can delete a resource from its edit page. A resource that still has bookings can't be deleted — cancel or refund those first, or simply mark it inactive to take it off the booking page while keeping its history.
