How gift cards work
A Zillo gift card is a unique code with a balance. Customers buy one at checkout, get the code by email with Apple and Google Wallet links, and spend it in person or online. Balances draw down gradually until they're used up.
Gift card expiry
Gift cards either never expire or expire a set number of months after they're issued. The safe default is "Never expires" — set your store default under Settings, override it per product, and know that each card keeps the expiry it was sold with.
Using gift cards at checkout
Customers can pay with a gift card balance at your online checkout. The balance reduces the order total; if it doesn't cover everything, their card pays the rest. Any leftover stays on the gift card for next time.
Importing gift cards in bulk
Issue gift cards to a whole list of recipients at once from a spreadsheet. Each recipient gets a comped card and a branded email with their code. Bulk import is part of Zillo Pro.
