Selling through AI shopping assistants
Your published products are listed in AI shopping assistants like ChatGPT automatically. Zillo shares a machine-readable product feed so assistants can find your store and send shoppers to buy on your storefront — no setup, opt out any time.
Selling through AI shopping assistants
More and more people ask AI assistants like ChatGPT to help them shop — "find me a spa day near me", "where can I buy a gift card for a local restaurant". Zillo puts your store in front of those shoppers automatically by sharing your products through a standard product feed that AI shopping assistants read.
This follows OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol — the same feed format that powers ChatGPT Shopping.
This is on by default. The moment your store is published, your products start being listed — there's nothing to switch on.
How it works
Zillo keeps a live, machine-readable list of your published products and includes your store in the feed it shares with AI shopping partners. Assistants use that feed to discover your products, understand what you sell, and recommend you to shoppers who are looking for something like it — then link them to your storefront to buy.
Shoppers check out on your store, not inside the chat. They discover and compare your products in ChatGPT, then follow a link to your own Zillo storefront to pay — exactly as they would from a Google result. OpenAI has moved toward merchant-owned checkout, so you keep the customer, your branding, and your full payment and fulfilment flow.
Going live
There's no setup. Publish your store and your products start appearing in AI shopping automatically. From then on the feed stays in sync with your catalogue: add, edit, or unpublish a product and the change flows through on its own. You never re-submit anything.
What gets listed
Only your published products appear, and each buyable option gets its own entry so assistants can recommend the exact thing a shopper asked for:
- Gift cards — one entry per denomination you offer.
- Tickets — one entry per price tier.
- Vouchers, bookings, and memberships — one entry each, at their listed price.
Products without a cover image are skipped — AI assistants require a product photo to recommend an item. Add a strong cover image to every product you want surfaced. See Customising your storefront for image guidance.
Make your products easy to recommend
The feed is only as good as the product details behind it. A few small things make assistants far more likely to surface you:
- Add a clear cover image to every product (required, as above).
- Write a real description — say what it is, who it's for, and what's included. Assistants match shopper questions against your wording.
- Use specific titles — "90-minute couples massage" beats "Massage".
Hiding a single product
Anything in draft is automatically left out of the feed, so the simplest way to keep a product off AI assistants is to leave it unpublished. If you need a published product hidden from AI assistants specifically while it stays live on your storefront, contact support and we'll flag it for you.
Your feed URL
When the feed is on,
Settings → Agentic feed
shows your feed URL — it looks like
https://your-store.zillo.app/feed.json. You don't need to submit it
anywhere; it's there purely so you can see exactly what's being shared.
Zillo handles registering the platform feed with AI partners.
Turning it off
Prefer not to be listed? Go to Settings → Agentic feed, untick List my products in AI shopping assistants, and click Save. Your products stop appearing in AI shopping. You can switch it back on the same way at any time.
