Mobile app overview

The Zillo staff app for iPhone and Android has two tabs. Redeem is for scanning customer QR codes — gift cards, tickets, vouchers, bookings, member check-ins. Sell is an in-person point-of-sale. Enable Sell from your Mobile settings if you take payments at the counter.

Mobile app overview

The Zillo staff app is the companion to your dashboard for in-person operations. It has two tabs:

  • Redeem — scan customer-presented QR codes. Gift cards, tickets, vouchers, experience bookings, and member check-ins all flow through here. Always available.
  • Sell — a point-of-sale for in-person transactions. Optional; turn it on in Settings → Mobile if you take payments at the counter.

Install + sign in

The app is on the App Store and Google Play under "Zillo Staff". Once installed:

    1. Open the app and tap Sign in.
    2. Enter the same email and password you use for dashboard.zillo.app.
    3. The app picks up your merchant. If you belong to more than one merchant account, pick which one to use.
    4. (Optional) Enable Face ID / fingerprint for future sign-ins.

Your session stays signed in until you sign out or change your password.

The Redeem tab

Pick the type of code you're scanning, scan or type the code, confirm the action. The app handles:

  • Gift cards — partial or full redemption, optional note, transaction history.
  • Tickets — one-way: scan flips the ticket to "Redeemed".
  • Vouchers — same one-way pattern as tickets.
  • Experience bookings — flag the booking as arrived.
  • Members — log a check-in. Rate-limited so the same QR can't be scanned twice within a minute (unless you tap "Force check-in").

Force redemption is available on every screen. Useful when a customer's phone has died after they scanned at the door and you need to let them in anyway. The audit trail records the override.

The Sell tab (POS)

Enable from Settings → Mobile:

  • POS enabled — master switch. When off, the Sell tab is hidden in the app.
  • Allow Tap to Pay — required to take card payments via NFC.
  • Allow cash — for recording cash sales (no Stripe charge, no platform fee).

Tap to Pay is Stripe's contactless card reader built into your phone — no separate hardware. The first time you tap a card on your device the OS asks for permission; accept once and it works from then on.

Customers tab (optional)

If you've enabled Customer search in Settings → Mobile, the app shows a third Customers tab. Search by email to see what a customer has bought from you. Useful for "did Jane already redeem her gift card?" during a busy shift.
